When the Buddha taught on happiness, he said that the end of suffering is supreme
happiness. He taught that every step taken towards the end of suffering is accompanied by an ever-increasing sense of
joy.
It is said that those who follow the Teaching of the Buddha live happy lives; they are the generous ones who walk without greed
among those who are overwhelmed by the sense of never having enough, of continual desire or greed. Followers of the Buddha are
said to live happily, without anger among those who hold feelings of ill will.
It is also said that the more one frees oneself from the energies of greed, ill will and ignorance, the greater will be his
or her happiness. And when that one has completely overcome these negative habits, they will know the supreme happiness that
the Buddha himself experienced.

You don't have to be a Buddhist or follow a particular religion or group to enjoy the benefits of
happiness.
Benefits of the habit of happiness include the reduction of stress, which assists the body in maintaining good health.
When you increase your capacity for joy, you also increase your feelings of gratitude. An attitude of gratitude can lead to
experiencing an effortless grace, an openess to receiving more abundance and love.
